Hi, I'm Athena Tacet, a digital illustrator. I make flat vector illustrations about women, places, and the quiet feeling of being between cultures.
My work is shaped by a life lived between Paris, Montreal, and my Mediterranean roots in Cyprus and Greece. I grew up with vibrant bougainvillea pinks blazing against stark white architecture, where the Aegean Sea carves geometric lines into the horizon — a visual clarity that still defines my aesthetic today.
A decade as a journalist reporting for Al Jazeera and The Economist took me to Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan. It was there that I found an unexpected kinship between my Mediterranean roots and East Asian aesthetics — both share the same visual language: restraint, elegance, and the sense that what you leave out matters as much as what you put in.
Currently based between Seoul and Dubai, I work with clients worldwide.
I'm fluent in English, French, and Greek, with conversational Italian, Spanish, and Levantine Arabic, bringing an understanding of the visual codes and storytelling traditions that make a design resonate authentically across different markets.
