Across the Aegean is a series of nine minimalist vector illustrations inspired by the traditions and everyday rituals of the Greek islands.
The collection draws from the πανηγύρια (panigyria), the village festivals where families gathered on warm summer evenings, music filled the square, and νησιώτικα (nisiotika, the traditional dances of the Aegean islands) carried on long after sunset.
The portraits are shaped by those memories: a man in traditional dress dancing steps passed down through generations, and a woman in her gold earrings, ready for the evening βόλτα (volta), the familiar stroll through the village. Around them are the objects that quietly framed those celebrations: an olive branch, an evil eye charm, an amphora, slices of watermelon shared between children, a lemon tree heavy with fruit, and a hibiscus blooming in the summer heat.
These are small symbols that I continue to cherish and carry with me, wherever I go.
